The Regional Development Centre (RDC) participates as a partner in the Actively Coaching and promoting Cooperation in the light of Enlargement for Small and Sole proprietor businesses project. The applicant of the project is the German trade association (institution “Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks (ZDH), Berlin”) and 11 partners form Germany, Italy, Poland, and Hungary also participate in the project.

The aim of the project is to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) established in regions on the border between Germany and Poland, and Italy and Slovenia. Target SMEs are small, micro and family businesses, which operate in branches on which the EU has a very unpleasant effect: in construction and ecological branches, in Mecklenburgu-Vorpommernu and Brandenburgu (Germany), and in construction and wood industry, in the Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy). The mentioned segment of SMEs will try to direct itself in the harsh European competition in such a way that it will overcome the initial difficulties, arising from fear and incomprehension of the new market. Then they will be able to obtain a successful existence or growth with possibilities offered by the EU enlargement. The project will be focused on establishing relations and joint planning of business strategies among SMEs and providers of supporting services on both sides of the border. Project activities are set to facilitate development of contacts among potential business partners.
