his year the Regional Development Centre Koper (RDC Koper) was invited to cooperate in the project GESINPORTS – Gestion Int\u00e9egr\u00e9e Durable dans les Ports de Plaisance de la Zone Sud Europ\u00e9enne (Sustainable integral management of marines in South Europe). The project was created within the framework of Community INTERREG IIIC South initiative.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Project GESINPORTS was created mainly because of the desire for a better understanding of the current status in the area of tourist ports in South Europe. There will be a thorough study of any possible weaknesses at environmental protection, ensuring of safety, education of staff, and adjusting to new information technologies. The goal of the project is to find a common strategy in the filed of tourist ports among projects partners on the basis of conclusions and solutions, which will be gained during the implementation of the project.<\/p>\n

RDC Koper will take part in the development of the education programme in the field of environmental protection and determination of indicators, which will be used for controlling the impacts that marines have on the environment. Due to the fact that all reports and products will be translated in languages of all partners and presented in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Slovenia, that a website will be established and also free workshops for the marine staff, gives the project a large international importance.<\/p>\n
