Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN)<\/p>\n

National Technical University of Athens (NTUA)<\/p>\n

Panepistimo Thessalias (University if Thessaly( (UTH)<\/p>\n

National and Kapodistriako University of Athens (UoA)<\/p>\n

SUPREME project involves public authorities in charge of MSP, as designated by the Governs of four MS (SLO, IT, GR and HR), and the UNEP\/MAP Barcelona Convention.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Supreme will focus on two key objectives:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To supporting the implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning in EU Member States.<\/li>\n
  2. To launch and carry out concrete and cross-border MSP initiative between Member States.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Project is composed of three work packages:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. C1: Implementation of the Maritime Spatial Panning <\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. C2: Management and coordination<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. C3: Communication and Dissemination <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      In order to develop cooperation on MSP common objectives at sea level basin will be examined and mechanism for an operational network will be proposed. For a specific support for Member states implementation of MSP, a careful analysis and practical actions are foreseen on the following issues:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Spatial demands for maritime sectors and related cumulative impacts.<\/li>\n
      2. Data and information’s requirements for MSP.<\/li>\n
      3. Tools and methods supporting MSP.<\/li>\n
      4. Stakeholder’s involvement and participation.<\/li>\n
      5. Definition of the most appropriate geographical scale for MSP plans.<\/li>\n
      6. Coordination of sectorial policies.<\/li>\n
      7. Land-sea interactions and relationships with ICZM.<\/li>\n
      8.  Five case-study areas will be considered and better focused at project inception. Regional development centre Koper is in charged for implementation of the pilot project at Slovenian coast.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        One of the main outputs of the project is develop specific criteria and indicators to evaluate the MSP process at different scales and at different stages.<\/p>\n
