Within the 1st public tender notice PPS INTERREG IIIA Slovenia-Italy 2000-2006, the Regional Development Centre Koper and the Province of Venice submmited a common project entitled
LOCAL TOURIST OFFER AND THEMATIC PATHS, PPS Interreg IIIA Slovenia-Italy 2000-2006. There are eleven partners included in the project, besides the applicants, two Slovene and nine Italian. Municipality of Koper and Piran Municipality are partners on the Slovenian side. The project began implementing in March 2005 and will conclude in June 2006.
The goals of the project are aimed at designing (additional) thematic paths of the joint cross-border area, selecting offers, defining a joint marketing strategy and the implementation of tourist promotion of the given area.
Three thematic paths were defined: THE OLIVE PATH, THE ŠAVRINI MEAL and THE EGG-WOMEN. We examined the offer by fieldwork and included the providers into the selection. A system of visual communication and labelling, and equipment of products has also been made, for the support in planning marketing.
